Apron Progress: Ironing Seams

March 21st, 2012 at 6:05 am . Posted in Sewing Projects .

This post is going to be short and sweet because I’ve been feeling pretty under the weather the last couple days.

I know it’s been a while since I did an apron progress post, so I wanted to show that I am still working on the apron as I have time, and I’m actually nearing the finish line.

If you recall, the last thing I had done on my cute apron project was sew the flounce, which was a pretty big deal! This is miniscule by comparison, but an important step nonetheless. On Sunday night, I broke out the ironing board and ironed down the seam of the flounce so the extra fabric now lies flatly toward the top of the apron.

I did this for both sides since the apron will be reversible. My plan was then to pin together the two sides inside out on Monday night so I could begin sewing, but I had trouble doing anything other than lying on the sofa and trying without much success to feel comfortable despite my flu-like symptoms.

My new goal is to get the two sides pinned this weekend (and maybe even get them sewn together)!
